the process
01. Let’s get to know each other. I would love to hear your story!
I love to get to know my couples and develop lasting relationships with them! This starts with the first bridal consultation which I host at a local coffee shop here in Wadsworth, Ohio. At this time, you will also receive the JL Bridal Guide which has all of the details you need to choose your collection, a la carte items, and to customize your unique wedding experience.
2. Make it official & reserve your date
Once you are booked and this relationship is official we will schedule a timeline consultation where I will create your custom working timeline that you can use to help plan your wedding day. We will also start planning or schedule your engagement session at this time. :) Please feel free to book your engagement session design consultation so we can go over all the information to create your dream engagement session! I am also available during the entire wedding planning process to answer any questions you may have.
3. Have a blast at your engagement session
This is when the fun really starts! You don’t have to worry about what you will do or how you will look in front of my lens. I will walk you through the entire process and guide you two through real moments and relaxed conversation. I don’t adhere to the typical posing methods of most wedding photographers and instead give directives to help my couples have fun, move, and laugh in front of my lens! But you don’t have to worry because I tell you two exactly what to do and how to do it. :) The more you relax, have fun, and love on each other, the better the photos will look. Let’s get to know each other and have some fun!
4. I build out your custom wedding day timeline
One month before your wedding day you will receive the JL wedding questionnaire. After you submit that form we schedule the final timeline consultation where we make any changes to the rough timeline and go over the information you entered. This is where all of our planning and organization starts to come together. :)
5. Have a blast living out your dreams on your wedding day
I am here to serve you and make sure your wedding day is everything that you hoped for. I work hard to creatively capture all the feels and special moments on your wedding day. I can’t wait for you to see what it looks like through my lens!
6. Cherish the lifelong memories I have captured
Your online gallery will be delivered for you to enjoy within six weeks of your wedding day! The online sharable gallery is mobile friendly and you can print professional photos directly from the gallery or download the images and print them locally. :) Your keepsake wedding USB will be delivered shortly afterwards.
07. Album design and keepsakes.
If you are investing in a wedding album, we start the process quickly after you receive your wedding gallery. I make the process effortless and you choose your images for the album directly from the online gallery. After you choose your favorites, I will design your album to beautifully tell the story of your wedding day. Once I receive your final approval of the spreads your custom album will be printed and shipped directly to you for you to enjoy for the rest of your lives!

Do I have permission to print our photos? Can I use them online?
Yes please! Please print your pictures! Nothing makes me happier than to see my work on client’s walls, coffee tables, and in their homes. :) I want you to print your images and will provide you with a print release for personal use. Additionally, every gallery comes with the ability to order professional prints right from the gallery. Please feel free to post any and all of your images to social media as well! I do not require you to tag me, though my heart does a little happy dance when I see all my couples posting and loving their images.
I want to book you, but I can’t afford the retainer, do you have payment plans?
Of course friend! Payment plans can be made available upon request.
How many photos do you deliver?
For a full wedding day I typically deliver over 800 edited images.
What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
Hands down my favorite part is when a couple decides to do a first look. That is when a bride and groom see each other before their ceremony. It’s such an intimate and beautiful moment and I feel like the grooms cry more often, which is so sweet!
Do you photograph more than one wedding per day?
Heavens no, your wedding is my total focus on that day! Also, I take a limited number of weddings per year so I can really serve my couples well and make sure they have a very hands on wedding photography experience.
Do you photograph formal family photos?
Always! This is a very important part of the wedding day.
How long will it take to receive our photos?
It depends on the season, but you will have access to your full online gallery less than six weeks after your wedding date!
Where are you located and do you travel?
I am located in Wadsworth, Ohio, which is right by Akron and Canton. I love to travel! If you have a travel request please add it to the contact form for specific travel pricing and availability.
Do you photograph elopements?
Of course! How you choose to get married is uniquely your decision. Reach out for special elopement pricing and information
What equipment do you use?
I photograph weddings with high end professional gear. I have a variety of lenses both zoom and primes that I use to creatively tell the story of each wedding day. Some of those include the 70-200mm, 24-70mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, & 85mm. I also bring external lighting such as flashes and continuous light sources etc. for dark churches and receptions. :)
How will we receive our photos?
For a wedding day all my couples receive edited high resolution images in an online shareable gallery as well as on a USB. For engagement sessions all images are delivered via an online gallery. All images in the online galleries can be downloaded and printed by friends and family. No additional purchases are necessary!
We don’t know how to pose and are not photogenic, how will you help us?
I hear this all the time! The key to taking a good photo is feeling good in the photo. If you are uncomfortable it will show. I work with my couples to help them feel relaxed, comfortable, and confident in front of my lens. Should we do an engagement session with you in addition to our wedding photographs?
Umm, YES! In addition to every collection coming with a complimentary engagement session, there are so many reasons to have an engagement session with your wedding photographer. You have a trial run for makeup and hair so you can know what to expect, the same is true with photography. This is a really important part of the wedding photography process and it’s a time I use to really get to know you two as a couple and learn how to draw out your personalities in the photos. Couples who choose to do an engagement session are more relaxed and comfortable on their wedding days and know exactly what to expect. And finally, I don’t use traditional posing methods, instead I help guide the couple and give directives to create natural looking images and genuine emotions. This takes about 20 minutes to warm up into and I want to make sure, from the start, you two are completely comfortable in front of my lens on your wedding day.

I require a $1500 retainer and a signed contract in order to reserve your wedding date. After we make this relationship Facebook official I will send you over all the information you need to be able to get started. From there we start your experience with an initial timeline consultation so you have a working timeline to use as you plan.
